JAMES – DUKE OF JAWOR
James became Duke of Jawor following a ruling of the International Court of Arbitration in Madrid. The decision is legally binding in more than 100 countries, is recognised by the Spanish Government, and endorsed by the Ministry of Justice.
Born in 1972, James was educated at boarding school in England and later undertook studies at Harvard and Oxford Universities. He also served as an officer cadet in the Royal Air Force.
James was the youngest chairman of a listed company in the United Kingdom and the youngest elected holder of public office for his political party.
A strong believer in innovation and access to education, James was the first investor in Chinese education under Ordinance 10 and later led the first international listing of Chinese education institutions. This initiative ultimately enabled the raising of more than USD 1 billion to support the expansion of higher education. He also founded the world’s first commercial MOOC.
James has founded a specialist college group with nine sites, supporting young people with emotional, behavioural, and autistic challenges. He also founded a regulated bank that was the first in the world to integrate crypto and fiat banking and now focuses on expanding banking services in developing markets.
In addition, James founded a licensed non-profit university focused on students who go on to play leading roles in the development of their communities. He is the founder and CEO of a global fintech banking business valued at over USD 1 billion under industry valuation models and is also CEO of a copper business of similar scale. He remains a significant shareholder in both.
James is committed to public service in Jawor, with a focus on promoting the local economy and tourism, supporting local services through charitable donations, creating scholarship opportunities for young people, and recognising individuals who make meaningful contributions to the community.
